Overview
If you purchased both your domain name and web hosting through Gecko, don’t worry, we would have taken care of this for you automatically.
However, if your domain was registered somewhere else, you will need to update your domain’s nameserver settings to point toward your new web hosting account.
How do I do that?
Every domain registrar is different, but you’ll need to login to the same place you registered your domain name.
Once logged in, locate the option to update or manage nameservers.
NOTE: If you are unable to find this section, you’ll need to get in touch with your domain registrar for support.
Once you’ve found the spot to update your nameservers, replace any default or old ones with ours:
ns1.geckohost.nz ns2.geckohost.nz
When you make a change to your nameservers, the domain name will need time to update – this is called propagation, as your existing domain records are cached around the world.
It may take up to 24 hours for this propagation period to complete.
